The new UK polar vessel, the Sir David Attenborough, will be launched later this year and will be in full operational duty in the autumn of 2020. NERC are calling for ideas from the science community about how to best take advantage of the new science opportunities that the Sir David Attenborough (SDA) will create. With double the berth capacity of RRS James Clark Ross, longer endurance and state-of-the-art science equipment and laboratories, NERC are keen to understand the requirements from the Community to maximise science output.
