UK-Russia Arctic Early Career Group

6th June 2018

Early career Arctic researchers from across the United Kingdom and Russia are working more closely than ever to reduce barriers to research and develop new international partnerships.

Formed as a result of two productive meetings at Moscow State University and the Aurora Innovation Centre in Cambridge earlier in the year the new UK-Russia Arctic Early Career Group is now firmly up and running.

Led by colleagues from the UK Polar Network and APECS Russia, with the active participation of 30 researchers, the Group have published a short opinion piece in Nature  on the vital importance of international cooperation in Arctic research. If you want to know more and get involved please visit https://ukrussiaarctic.wordpress.com/ to sign-up to the Group’s contact list.

The activities of the Group are supported by the NERC Arctic Office and by the UK’s Science and Innovation Network as part of wider initiatives to build stronger and more productive relationships between Arctic researchers in the UK and Russia. We look forward to continuing this support and helping to promote all the important work that this Group has started.
