NERC Arctic Programme
An Arctic research programme has been established by NERC with a budget of £15m over five years (2010–2015). The overall objective is:
To improve our capability to predict changes in the Arctic, particularly over the next 50–100 years, including regional impacts and the potential for feedbacks on the global Earth System

Announcement of Opportunity: Arctic Research Programme Second Funding Round - Call for Outline Proposals

The Arctic Programme Announcement of Opportunity First Funding round closed on the 29th July 2010. A list of the proposals funded as part of the first funding round of the Arctic Research Programme are now available here. Five awards were made to three consortia and two standard grants. NERC Arctic Programme Workshop
Researchers and stakeholders interested in being involved in the programme were invited to apply to attend a First Funding Round Workshop, held at the Scarman Conference Centre, Warwick University, 29th to 30th September 2010. All approved Expressions of Interest and the presentations given during this two day event are now available to view (NERC Arctic Programme Workshop participants only).
